Poland shelters ones of the nicest Neolithic flint mines in Europe. Over years scholars tried to preserve this heritage and to develop this field of research.
Around the Vistula basin are numerous flint sources of high quality that were exploited by prehistoric communities. Since long time, Polish archaeologists excavated those prestigious sites and studied their flint material. Dr Dagmara H. Werra will propose an overview of the most prominent polish flint mining sites and of the exchange networks that last from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age all over Poland.
